About Tree of Life International

West Africa is the Worlds poorest region.

According to the World Health Organisation ( WHO ) it is estimated that around 297,000 children in under the age of 5 die each year due to water related diseases. These diseases include diarrhea, cholera, typhoid and other illness caused by contaminated water sources. The United Nations Children’s fund ( UNICEF ) state that 22 % of the population of Sub Saharan Africa does not access to safe drinking water.

Tree of Life Internationals vision is to improve access to safe drinking water and sanitation in Africa in order to reduce the incidence of water related diseased and improve the health of people.

Clean water in Africa makes a massive positive difference to peoples’ lives.

Building wells in Africa produces many benefits

  • Access to clean water which can improve health and prevent illness.
  • Increased agricultural production. Wells can produce water for irrigation in areas effected by sporadic water fall and drought, areas prone to low soil quality can be improved. A stable water source from a well can help increase crop yield and support agriculture. It allows families to feed themselves and grow crops for the local community. It helps alleviate poverty and creates self-reliance.
  • Economic development. Access to water allows small business to operate means less time of the day spent collecting water from a long way away. It enables agricultural produce to be grown such as vegetables and fruit, small scale fish farming,
  • Building wells means children spend more time in school and less time of the day missing school walking to collect water for the family every day.

There are few things that can help people more in Africa than giving access to clean and sustainable water. Clean water supply effects all areas of life such as health, wellbeing and economic development of families and communities.

The amount of water a well can produce varies depending on a number of factors including the location, depth and geology of the well, typically well can produce anywhere from a few hundred to several thousand gallons of water a day

Digging wells in West Africa is a critical initiative to provide access to clean drinking water to local communities. Lack of clean water is a significant issue in many parts of West Africa, where waterborne diseases are prevalent, and people have to travel long distances to access water.

Tree of life International by digging wells in Ghana West Africa can make a significant difference in the lives of the people living in these areas. By providing access to clean water, we can help to reduce the incidence of waterborne diseases, improve sanitation, and reduce the time and effort required to collect water.

To ensure the fullest success of the project, we work closely with the local partner community and involve them in the planning and implementation of the well-digging initiative. We will also ensure that the wells are constructed in suitable locations and are maintained properly to ensure their sustainability.

As part of our work we will be providing education to the local community on the importance of clean water and proper sanitation practices to ensure that the wells are used correctly and effectively.

We believe that by digging wells in Africa can have a significant positive impact on the lives of the people in the region and contribute to sustainable development.
